Originally from Geelong (don’t mention football!) Michael graduated from Monash University and spent 4 years working through every hospital department and specialty including completing a Diploma in Obstetrics. He then went to test himself in every facet of medicine all over Australia from the remotest areas of the outback, to small rural towns, to capital cities. He has worked overseas in London and on the seas - on an oil barge and later as Ships Physician on cruise ships. He has worked on Christmas Island Detention Centre and still today spends weeks each year at remote Kimberley townships and aboriginal communities.
Michael describes himself as a Generalist and will meet any challenge presented. He enjoys in particular paediatrics, Men’s Health including STI/HIV and antenatal care and contraception/implanon.
Michael is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian College of GPs and Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. He is a current GP supervisor and previously an examiner for RACGP.
In his spare time, Michael is still a competitive swimmer (warning do not challenge him). He was busted for drafting as a triathlete and feigns illness masterfully if losing at any sport. He is a skilful cheater at all board games, is a hog at karaoke and plays endless elevator music on the piano. Not surprisingly, he was also expelled from Actors Pulse Acting Studio for being overly dramatic.
