Clean Slate Clinic

Do you feel like you need help with your drinking? Always waking up with a hangover? Worried you have lost control?

Established in 2015 the Clean Slate Clinic provides a discreet service for those wishing to address problem drinking. The Clinic, led by Dr Chris Davis and supported by highly-trained nursing staff, offers a 7 day outpatient program, follow-up consults, group support and external referrals as necessary. The program has a high success rate in helping people cut down or stop their problem drinking and is the subject of a medical research paper.

Specifically, the program involves:

  • an initial assessment to ascertain a client's suitability to the program
  • vitamin injections pre-detox
  • a urine drug screen
  • daily attendance at the clinic to receive medication that will facilitate the detox
  • daily breathalyser tests
  • a post-detox review at the end of the 10 day period, at which anti-craving medication will be offered
  • referral to external support groups
  • follow up appointments to track wellbeing

The program can be bulk-billed for concession card holders, with fees applying for other clients.

Skin Checks

All doctors at ESD are experienced in performing skin checks. We recommend that people over the age of 50 especially those with fair skin have a regular skin check.

More than half of all Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70. The most common cancers can usually be removed fairly simply. Malignant melanomas are less common but more serious as they are likely to spread without early treatment.

Check in before the summer heat.

He has exhibited his ceramics with “Designed and Made” in the Rocks Sydney and has been exhibiting and selling his paintings on line. David has been heavily influenced by nature, particularly the ocean.

“The act of painting for me is often no different as writing a song or singing. it's a wonderful thing when it flows and almost performs or paints itself”.

This body of work “Marine Dream” explores the ocean as a color wash dreaming where the light sometimes plays in unnatural ways. These acrylic paintings on canvas use minimalist or monochrome color combinations to evoke an ethereal mood, subtle notions of the afterlife and other worldliness.

Nature Morte

Nature Morte - Contemporary Still Life from artist Julia Milton

This exhibition presents the work of emerging artist Julia Milton. Inspired by the symbolic weight of various motifs and metaphors within the history of Still Life, her work investigates issues of globalization and consumerism in food production today. Milton particularly notes how contemporary advertising and marketing portray the abundance of food - including consumer demands, food displays in supermarkets, advertising and consumer driven desire for perfection in our society.

‘The domestic reference to food and table settings has close links to my own life in terms of family management and the private studio space of the kitchen table’
